MANAGEMENT

Owned and operated by two of Canada’s top racing professionals, a major emphasis is put on creating “grass root” karting programs designed to discover and train Canada’s next motorsports stars!

Goodwood Kartways is managed by Canada’s famous racing Di Leo’s, siblings Daniel, Marco and Stefanie, who were born and raised in nearby Markham. Like many of the young karters he sees at the track, Daniel, the eldest, was a karting superstar in his youth, a former factory driver and multi-time National and World Karting Association Champion. He rose through the formula car ranks to Formula Atlantic before turning his attention to Sports Car racing, then found a management role in the sport as he settled with his wife and family in neighbouring Uxbridge and took over the reigns of the family-owned Goodwood Kartways.

Marco, four years younger, mirrored much of his brother’s career in the racing ranks as he, too, was a Canadian karting superstar that scored victories on both sides of the border, and in many of the karting series that still exist today. A veteran of six trips to the Rotax World Finals in karting, Marco was also very skilled in a formula car as he rose through the Skip Barber National Championship and the Star Mazda Championship before coming back home and managing the Goodwood Kartways National Team, a unit he still suits up for from time to time today.

Youngest of the trio, Stefanie very much grew up at race tracks and has nearly as much time spent in karting as her two older brothers. Immersed in the sport even as she earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Brock University, Stefanie has been track side at each of North America’s biggest events on multiple occasions, and repeatedly visited the Rotax Grand Finals. Also answering the call back to home, she is often the face that greets you at the track, and will likely be there when you decide to visit!

THE TRACK

Considered one of the best training circuits in all of Canada, the technical road course poses a challenge to the best of the best. It has often been said “If you can win at Goodwood, you can win anywhere!” Perhaps the biggest advantage to drivers using the course is the side by side racing that the track promotes. With passing opportunities in essentially every corner of the track, drivers are forced to learn the art of race-craft. The track easily accommodates up to 32 karts on the track at any given time, and with the large fields that the circuit tends to attract, drivers learn the mentality of “pass or be passed”. The course is equipped with a modern state-of-the-art lighting system which adds an added element of exciting night racing. With ample parking in the large paved paddock area, participants and spectators alike have no problems finding there spot.
