It was a chilly start to the day, but that didn’t stop a ‘Spring Training’ record setting 110+ eager kart racers complete their first laps of the season in anticipation of TRAK Race 1 which is scheduled for this coming Saturday April 15th.
The day started with over 30 NEW Club Members taking part in the ‘Mandatory Rookie Orientation’ session. The Rookies completed both in-class and on-track training in the morning and then blended in seamlessly with the other members in the afternoon with class by class ‘Timed Practice’. The event ran on-time and incident free. The perfect start to the new season!
With the 2023 membership count higher than its ever been, a record setting turnout was no surprise. That said, the participation levels exceeded all expectations.
“Now in our eighteenth year of business, I usually have a good sense of what to expect,” commented TRAK President Daniel Di Leo.” We had 30+ rookies join our club this off-season. Add that to last years’ strong numbers and we are expecting one of our biggest seasons yet. Even with those high expectations, Spring Training was amazing to be a part of. It had a race day feel which is unique for this type of event and quite simply put this was only possible thanks to our loyal members, the most committed in the industry. A big ‘Thank You’ goes out to all who worked so hard to be ready for an early start. Congratulations to all those who successfully completed the Rookie Orientation session. With a bunch of regulars not in attendance and some great weather in the forecast, TRAK Race 1 is shaping up to be one our biggest yet!”

TRAK Race 1 ‘Bruno Polo Memorial Race’ will take place Saturday April 15th. Sponsored by Reeve Webster Racing in association with The Racing Topic, a podcast produced by Chad Webster Racing. As always, drivers can expect some extra prizes at the podium as long time Club supporter Trevor Reeve always goes over and above. The event will utilize the traditional Long Track Configuration and will follow the standard Qualifying Race format. Registration will take place on-site and will be open all week leading up to and including Saturday morning. Goodwood Kartways has dedicated the entire week to Private Kart Lapping providing ample opportunity for karters to get out and knock off the winter rust while testing and tuning in preparation for TRAK Race 1. Those who come out to practice are permitted to setup and leave trailers on-site leading up to Saturday’s race. Race One Details can be found below.
