For Immediate Release: April 20th, 2023

With a long way to go and growth in the class the end goal, the early signs are very positive. Race One times were very competitive, multiple drivers had a chance of winning and it was fun to watch Briggs Senior Champion Michael Ing jump into a two stroke for the first time and prove to be very competitive right out of the box. Rumors in the paddock suggest that we will see a few more Briggs regulars make the jump as the class looks to double in size over the next few races.

TRAK Race One Podium Finishers:

1st – Christian Valverde
2nd – Aidan Shimbashi
3rd – Michael Ing

TRAK Officials announced the change earlier this month.  Read below:

As the Club continues to grow, it is no secret that participation levels in our fastest Senior category has been stagnant. The cost to compete is a key factor. In simple terms, TRAK Officials have evaluated trends seen across North America and have decided to follow suit adopting an engine package that reduces these costs significantly all while maintaining the fun factor associated with 2-stroke karting. Now with two years of experience utilizing the Vortex VLR package in Junior and Masters, the switch will be made creating VLR Senior. The decision wasn’t taken lightly but made for the right reasons.

Retail price comparison. A 30% price decrease from the Rok GP to the VLR. Less moving pieces makes the package more user friendly. Parity between engines a big reason for the switch across the industry. Rebuild and running costs significantly cheaper.

Note: Rok USA officials have now informed us that the GP engine is not nearing the end of its life and will not be redesigned.

We are very happy with how our rebuilding process has started. There is a lot to be optimistic about. The lower cost of entry and the parity between competitor engines is a formula for success. It will be exciting to watch this class grow.
